Had a lovely dinner there. Food was absoloutely gorgeous and great value (2 courses for £15 Tuesdays and Wednesdays throughout November!) Very friendly staff, and effecient. Food was very quick, presented beautifully and tasted superb. Drinks weren't cheap, but nice selection. The only negative thing we felt was that maybe the lighting could have been softened to enhance the atmosphere in the evenings.

I have been receiving deliveries from Riverford for the last 3 years or so. I love it. The service is excellent, the produce fantastic, and I am now a convert to the meat box too. I spend less per week ordering from my lovely veg man, than I ever would in the supermerket - with the added bonus of trying new things! I *love* it!!!

A food delight, and a breath of fresh air in this supermarket driven society. My daughter and I love shopping here. The variety and range of produce is superb and the prices are very reasonable too, look out for the £1 bags of fruit and veg. All produce is carefully and knowledgebly sourced, and the staff are friendly.

The Bull has a friendly and warm atmosphere throughtout. It is a Grade II listed building and as such is steeped in history. Each aspect of the Inn mixes contemporary décor with ancient timbers, antique furniture and artefacts thus retaining the historic character.

It has played a pivotal role in the development of the town over the centuries. Cromwell’s General Mytton commandeered the Inn during the English Civil War: in complete contrast, it became one of Anglesey’s first legally recorded Quaker meeting houses during the 18th century. Novelist Charles Dickens and the diarist Dr Samuel Johnson are just two of its famous past guests.

I have suggested this Inn is a restaurant but is much more, there are two dining option suited every pocket, The Brasserie (cheaper & cheerful) and The upstairs or Loft Restaurant (which is Al le Carte) and the bar is a wonderful place to rehydrate and take in your surroundings. The accomodation is on the more expensive side, but you do get what you pay for, with individual bespoke space incorporating modern design with period features. As of early next year a new accomodation option will be on offer, the word is this will be more cost effective.

Here is a little info from the website: www.bullsheadinn.co.uk

The Brasserie
A Welsh slate floor (underheated), oak tables and local stone fireplace form a perfect setting for informal dining in a lively, convivial atmosphere. Efficient service complements the setting, being both relaxed and friendly.

Imaginative menus created by Chef Simon Doyle ensure that you will always find something to tempt your palate. Simon specialises in dishes using fresh quality local ingredients, prepared in a modern British style.

The Restaurant
The elegant, tranquil Restaurant occupies the eaves of the oldest part of The Bull. Menus are created daily according to season using the finest Anglesey produce.

The skilful preparation of such fine quality ingredients, along with friendly and efficient service, has resulted in the restaurant receiving numerous awards as well as acknowledgement by all leading independent food guides.

The Bar
For five hundred years the Inn has been a warm, convivial meeting place for locals and visitors alike. The low ceiling with heavy oak beams is unchanged since Charles Dickens enjoyed a glass of ale whilst staying at The Bull in 1859. The highlight here is undoubtedly the selection of cask conditioned ales.

The Accomodation
While up-dating the rooms to a high standard using antique furniture and fittings, they have carefully retained the unique character and atmosphere that epitomises Ye Olde Bulls Head Inn.

Great meat and friendly stall holders. I buy from the farmer's market at Macknade's. They usually have a good range of cuts. One of these days I'll get round to visiting the farm itself.

The most excellent homemade jams you have ever tasted (especially the plum jams) this is a friendly local shop which also provides a wide range of fruit in season, their own honey and beekeeping lessons all at a very reasonable price. Well worth a visit!

A chilly trip around Brackley's farmer's market rewarded me with some of the absolute finest lamb I have ever tasted. Fringform Lamb supplied me with a wonderful hefty shoulder of lamb at a very competitive price, marbled with nice creamy fat and the deep maroon tone that shows you this little bleater had plenty of exercise.

Roasted gently with garlic, rosemary and a dribble of olive oil, and served alongside some superior roasties (also procured at the market), it had a rich, intense flavour that you simply don't get in supermarket cuts. The vendors were knowledgable not only on how the meat was produced, but about cooking it and even how to make it go a bit further.

I will definitely be buying again.

This is the main place to go in Fife (or near Perth) to good quality & priced organic and free range meat & dairy products and for fruit & veg. You can phone, email or place order online. You can collect order, get it delivered or arrange to collect at your local Farmers Market. Now I've changed to organic/free range for all my meat & dairy products I will never go back to the poor quality, mass produced products. You need to try the change and cook with the good quality products to see the difference - no more watery meat/poultry for me and my family! I love all meat/poultry and also I love all animals - I'm happy to continue eating meat so long as the animals have been well-reared and cared for till the very end...

Visited here for the last three or four years, and its really improved with a butchers counter - although the quality of meat has always been great, especially the pork. One of the few places that sells vegetable seedlings at the appropriate times, real godsend when I realise I haven't sown something in time!
There is a really good selection in the shop of veg, eggs, cakes, and there are frozen products too.
Well worth a visit
